Pioneer Valley Tip-Off
The Pioneer Valley Tip-Off, proudly presented by Spalding, is a regional high school basketball showcase that takes place on the UMass campus in mid-December. Played at the historic Curry Hicks Cage -- the former home to UMass Basketball legends including Julius Erving, Lou Roe, and and coach John Calipari -- the event features teams from the Pioneer Valley and surrounding areas. The event is executed thanks to the hard work of motivated students in the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management, the support of several local businesses, and the cooperation of dozens of school administrators. McCormack Future Leaders Conference
The McCormack Future Leaders Conference (FLC) is the premier career development event in the northeast, attracting students and professionals from across the region. The event aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real world experience by providing attendees with a unique case study format and insights from industry-leading professionals.
Attendees are given the chance to complete a case study in collaboration with students from other schools and industry professionals. The students are able to learn from the feedback of these professionals and network with new connections to help them advance their careers in the sport industry.
The case studies are supplemented with speaker panels including the Keynote Address and Young Guns panel. Past keynote speakers include Chuck Steedman (COO, AEG), Ben Percia (VP Platform Development, Fenway Sports Management), and UMass alum Kate Hogan (Director of Consulting and Events, Fenway Sports Management).
